On, Monday, August 3, 2026, John Joseph Lewis was reunited with his beloved wife Rose Marie (1990) at the age of 88. He will live on forever through his children Nancy (Todd) Sharrow, David (Colleen) Lewis, Chris (Casey) Lewis and the late Deborah (Jim Surviving) Milak (2024). Cherished Grandpa of Mike (Amy) Sharrow, Ryan (the late Elizabeth) Sharrow, Sarah Lewis, Emily (Chris) Matte, Justin Lewis, Kyle (Krista) Lewis, Jennifer Milak, Jeff (Tiffany) Milak and his numerous great grandchildren.
John was born to the late Jack and Margaret (Davis) Lewis and is a dear brother of Betty (Late Charley) Leveille, Ada (Don) Myers, Doug (Mona) Lewis, Eileen (Lyle) Jardine, Donna Jean (the late Charles) Bechard and the late Lloyd (Elaine Surviving) Lewis, the late Doris and Gus Lalonde and the late Jackie and Doug Myers. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews as well as all that knew him throughout the community. Whether that was from his 35 plus years he worked at Waltec or those that knew him as a life long farmer who enjoyed taking a slow drive throughout Dover checking on the crops.
His family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to all the nurses with VON and Bayshore whose support allowed him to stay at home.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation at the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg (519-627-3231) on Friday, August 7, 2026 from 10am until 12pm at which time all are welcome to travel together to Owen Cemetery in Dover for his graveside service at 12:30pm. If you wish to make a donation in his memory, please consider assisting our local VON and Bayshore Nurses or giving to the 3 Oaks Respite Cabin who assist so many from our agricultural community and our first responders.
