We caught WAMBO Boats Manager Rob Dickson as he manoeuvred his boat into the Downtown Wallaceburg basin.
He shared that more than 30 boats are already registered, with plenty more expected to arrive Friday evening and again Saturday morning as the river fills for the big weekend.
The lineup will be a sight – massive cruisers, tiny runabouts, and even wooden beauties built in the 1930s, each one carrying its own story upriver.
Crews have been busy behind the scenes.
Bridges throughout the area have been checked and repaired, electrical systems tested and confirmed in full working order.
Everything is set for a smooth, lively weekend on the water, Dickson says.
No matter what you’re captaining, you can cruise right up to the registration table tucked behind the library, pay the $30 fee, and settle in for the weekend.

Seven awards will be handed out, ranging from captains choice to chairman’s choice to people’s choice and more, giving every boat – and every boater – a chance to shine.
