ROCK and CK Public Health to host Overdose Awareness Day events

R.O.C.K., the Chatham-Kent Community Drug Strategy, along with the Chatham-Kent Ontario Health Team and Chatham-Kent Public Health, are inviting residents to take part in events marking International Overdose Awareness Day 2026.

The organizations say the annual events bring partners together to remember individuals whose lives were cut short by preventable drug toxicities, and to consider how the community can work toward a safe, caring and inclusive future. This year’s theme is Every Story, Every Path, Every Life Matters.

Events will be hosted at the R.O.C.K. drop-in centres in Chatham and Wallaceburg. The Chatham event takes place Wednesday, August 26 from 3 to 6 p.m. at 39 Richmond Street. The Wallaceburg event takes place Thursday, August 27 from 4 to 7 p.m. at 233 Nelson Street.

Food and refreshments, music, art and resources will be provided, and organizers say all are welcome.
