Walpole Island First Nation and Hydro One are inviting community members to a joint open house to learn more about several transmission line projects in the region.
The event will provide information on the Longwood to Lakeshore, St. Clair Transmission Line, the Windsor Lakeshore Power Line, and the Energizing Essex County projects. Representatives from Forbes and Valard Construction will also be on hand to answer questions about employment, training and procurement opportunities related to some of the projects.
Walpole Island First Nation, Hydro One, Forbes and Valard staff will be available throughout the evening to answer questions and hear feedback from residents on the projects. Door prizes will be given out, including waterproof speakers, Yeti mugs, fishing supplies and headphones. A free dinner will also be provided.
The open house is scheduled for Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the WIFN Sports Complex, located at 770 Tecumseh Rd. in Wallaceburg.
