The Chatham-Kent Public Library is bringing back its CKPL Grows Seed Library with a fall selection of native plants.
Starting Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026, all CKPL branches will have a small variety of native plant seeds available for checkout. The seed library contains seeds for plants native to Ontario and Canada, including popular local plants such as Black-Eyed Susan, Butterfly Weed, Swamp and Common Milkweed, Purple Coneflower and New England Asters.
CKPL’s Seed Library provides free seeds for residents to borrow so they can grow healthy gardens, have access to affordable flowers and create beautiful spaces in their own backyards and communities. Residents need a valid CKPL library card and can check out five packages of seeds.
