Chatham man arrested after theft from business

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Chatham-Kent police arrested a 36-year-old Chatham man Monday after he allegedly walked out of a business without paying for several items.

Police were dispatched to an address on St. Clair Street at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Aug. 10 regarding a theft. Officers were advised that a male had left a business with several items without making any attempt to pay for them.

The man was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and breach.

He was released on a Form 9 with a future court date.
