OPP officials allege: A Vaughan man is facing impaired driving and drug possession charges following a RIDE program in Grand Bend last week.
Members of the Lambton County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police conducted a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere program on Oak Street near Queen Street in the Town of Grand Bend shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 14, 2026.
As a result, Thuong Tran, 32, of the City of Vaughan, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs, and possession of a schedule I substance.
A 90-day administrative driver’s licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment were imposed as per statute. The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on Sept. 10, 2026.
Police are urging the public to report impaired driving by calling 911 in emergencies. Complaints of impaired, aggressive or careless driving can also be made by calling 1-888-310-1122.
