Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 40-year-old Chatham man is facing impaired driving charges after police stopped his vehicle early Monday morning.
Chatham-Kent police say an officer observed a vehicle travelling on Richmond Street in Chatham with no headlights activated at approximately 12:48 a.m. on Aug. 24.
The officer conducted a traffic stop, and the driver was arrested for impaired operation of a conveyance. He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters, where he provided samples of his breath.
The man is facing charges of operation while impaired by alcohol and operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration of 80-plus.
He was released on a Form 10 with a court date of Sept. 29, 2026.
