It is with heavy hearts that we announce Alexander Gordon Shawanda, a member of Walpole Island First Nations passed away sudden at his home on Friday, August 21, 2026 at the age of 36.
He will be forever remembered by his wife Chelsea Greenbird and his children Blair and Celine. Dear son of Renee Isaac and the late Alexander Shawanda II and son-in-law of Loni Ann Greenbird and Gilberto DeLaGarza. Brother of Ashley, Candace and Dreden and brother-in-law of Alichia, Alexia, Cougar, Hawke, Markus and Bosston. He will be missed by his grandparents Alexander and the late Margaret Shawanda and by Verlene and Robert Aquash. Gordie is fondly thought of by his Aunties and Uncles, Minogiizhgad, Tony, Robert, Michelle, Stephanie (Jerry), Tania, Bobbi-Jo, Danielle ‘Star’, Crystal, Susan, Wonda, Roseanne, Rita, Laura, Jennifer, Olivia and the late Darrel as we as by his many cousins and extended family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation at the Walpole Island Sports Complex on Thursday, August 27 from 4pm until the time of his funeral service on Friday August 28, 26 at 11am.
