The Chatham-Kent Police Service will launch its 2026 Community Survey on Sept. 1, with the survey running through Sept. 30.
The survey is administered by an independent third-party provider, ensuring complete confidentiality, police said, adding that CKPS does not have access to individual responses or participant identities.
In addition to the online survey, some residents may receive a telephone call from the survey provider requesting their participation. Police said these calls are legitimate and recipients are encouraged to take part, noting that whether completed online or by phone, every response helps the service better understand community needs and expectations.
Police said community feedback plays a vital role in shaping their priorities, guiding service improvements, and helping them better understand the needs and expectations of residents. The results of the 2025 Community Survey were published on the CKPS website, along with a summary of the actions and improvements implemented in response to what was heard from the community.
Chief Kirk Earley emphasized the importance of community engagement.
“This survey is an important opportunity for us to hear directly from the people we serve. Your feedback helps us better understand community expectations, inform future planning, and identify where we should focus our efforts. Every response provides valuable insight that helps shape the future of our organization. By listening and learning together, we can continue to provide responsive, professional, and community-focused policing for Chatham-Kent,” Earley said.
Police said all residents are encouraged to participate by sharing their experiences, perspectives, and suggestions, adding that feedback helps them better understand what matters most to the community and identify opportunities to continue improving the services they provide. The survey also provides an opportunity to recognize and commend CKPS members whose dedication, professionalism, and commitment have made a positive difference in the lives of others, police said.
A direct link to the survey will be available on the CKPS website and shared through CKPS communication channels beginning Sept. 1.
