Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A Chatham woman has been charged with mischief after police responded to a complaint of vandalism behind a business on King Street West.
On Friday, Aug. 28, 2026, at approximately 3:53 p.m., members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a mischief complaint in the area after information was received that a female party was spray-painting walls and ripping plants out behind a business.
Officers attended the area and located a woman matching the description provided by the complainant. Police observed fresh spray paint on the wall and located several cans of spray paint nearby. Through investigation, officers confirmed the woman’s involvement in the incident.
As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000.
The woman was transported to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters, where she was held pending a bail hearing.
