Traffic complaint leads to impaired driving charge in Enniskillen Township

OPP officials allege: A traffic complaint has resulted in an impaired driving charge after Lambton County OPP stopped a vehicle in Enniskillen Township.

Officers responded to a complaint involving a vehicle on Courtright Line shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 22 and located and stopped the vehicle. A 17-year-old from Lambton County was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.

A 90-day administrative driver’s licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment were imposed under provincial statute. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia at a later date. The youth’s identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Members of the public are urged to report impaired driving by calling 911 in an emergency, or to report impaired, aggressive or careless driving by calling 1-888-310-1122.
