With peaceful but heavy hearts we announce that Evelyn Leotta Hellewell-Low passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at the age of 83. She is the loving wife of the late George Hellewell (1991) and the late William ‘Bill’ Low (2020).
Beloved mother of Shelly Kennedy, Wayne (Michelle) Hellewell and the late Peter Hellewell and step-mother of Scott (Lucy) and Randy (Barb) Low. Grandmother of Jake (Stephanie), Jeffrey (Bre), Katie, Preston (Amy), Travis, Salena, Jessie and several great grandchildren
Evelyn loved to quilt for her family and enjoyed donating to several organizations. She worked at St. Clair Tool & Die for 20 plus years and before that was a field worker in summer and helped strip tobacco during the winter months. Her most precious prize was her family and friends who she enjoyed camping with, traveling from coast to coast and visiting family in England and Scotland.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation at the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg (519-627-3231) on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 from 11:30am until the time of her funeral service at 1pm. Following the service Evelyn will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery and all are invited to join the family at the Cavanagh Reception Centre.
