Some health care services at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance’s Chatham and Wallaceburg sites will be altered on Monday, Sept. 7, in recognition of the Labour Day holiday.
During the statutory holiday, some outpatient diagnostic tests will still take place, and patients with scheduled appointments are advised to attend. Those departments will also be staffed to meet the needs of inpatients and emergencies.
Ambulatory Care Services, Outpatient Rehabilitation Services, Pre-Surgical Screening Services, the Diabetes Education Centre, the TIA and CAD clinics, the Pulmonary Function Lab, Outpatient Lab Services, Health Records and the Patient Appointment Offices will all be closed for the day.
The Musculoskeletal Rapid Access Clinic at the Chatham site will also be closed, as will the Chatham-Kent Mental Health and Addictions Program Outpatient Department and the Rapid Access to Addiction Medicine clinic. Anyone experiencing an immediate crisis is asked to call the crisis line at 1-866-299-7447 or visit the nearest emergency room.
Elston Pharmacy at the Chatham site will be closed, along with the Oncology/Chemotherapy Department and the Business Office and Cashier’s Office. Two bill changers will remain available in the building for coin change.
Hemodialysis care will be open as usual on the holiday.
The emergency departments at both the Chatham and Wallaceburg sites will remain open 24 hours a day.
