The Municipality of Chatham-Kent has given notice that it intends to use Green Stream Lawn & Vegetation Management Inc. to control noxious weeds along all municipal rural roadsides this fall.
The pesticides used for this purpose fall under the other legislative requirements exception to the Cosmetic Pesticides Ban for the control of noxious weeds under the Weed Control Act.
Three pesticides registered under the federal Pest Control Products Act will be used, including ClearView Herbicide, containing the active ingredients metsulfuron-methyl and aminopyralid, present as potassium salt, Gateway Adjuvant, containing paraffinic oil and alkoxylated alcohol non-ionic surfactants, and Navius FLEX Herbicide, containing metsulfuron-methyl and aminocyclopyrachlor.
The fall spray period is expected to run between September 7 and October 31, 2026, with application weather permitting and confined to weed-infested portions of the municipal right-of-way.
