Wallaceburg Lakers hockey welcomes players and families for 76th season

The Wallaceburg Minor Hockey Association is welcoming players, families and volunteers to the 76th season of Wallaceburg Lakers hockey, with players across all levels already back on the ice or anxiously awaiting their first skate of the year.

“THIS IS YOUR LAKERS COMMUNITY,” the association said in a message to the community, thanking coaches, managers and on-ice help for “leading, teaching, encouraging, challenging, and believing in our players,” and thanking volunteers, fans, families, sponsors and arena staff at the Wallaceburg Memorial Arena and Walpole Island Sports Complex for their support heading into the new season.

The association is encouraging players and families to focus not only on results but on how the team competes and treats one another. “Respect your teammates. Respect your opponents. Respect your coaches, officials, volunteers and families. Respect the game, on the ice AND off the ice,” the message read.

“WELCOME HOME, LAKERS,” the association said, inviting the community to the rink for the season ahead.
