With broken hearts, we suddenly say, the gate has closed on our farmer. Mr. Maurice E. Seys, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at the age of 87 years. He was born in Wallaceburg and was a son of the late Emiel and Nelly (née DeKeyser) Seys. Beloved and devoted husband of Betty (née Burm) Seys. Loving father of Jeff (Kim) Seys, Jennifer (Jim) Owens and Peter (Isabella Smith) Seys. Dear grandfather of Jeremy (Elicia) Owens, April Seys and Luke Seys and great grandfather of Theodore Owens.
Kind brother of John (Linda) Seys, Sylvia (John) Dickson, Betty Seys and brother-in-law of Lee Seys and Alan Bishop. Predeceased by his brothers Omar, Art and sister Marjorie Bishop. He will always be remembered by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Maurice was a farmer and loved the outdoors. He loved nature and enjoyed bird watching. He found peace and comfort when crop touring in his pickup. He liked country music or could be found watching the news on TV. He savored his Tim Horton’s and spending the mornings with his coffee time friends.
The late Maurice Seys is resting at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home (639 Elgin St. Wallaceburg). Family and friends are invited for visitation on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 from 4-7pm. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at 11 am from Holy Family Church. Interment will take place in Riverview Cemetery following the Mass.
