Peacefully, on the Wilbur Century Farm, on Thursday, September 24, 2026 in his 86th year. Much beloved and cherished husband of Velma (Annett) for 64 years. Loving father of Beth (Quin) Malott, Jeffrey (Karen) Wilbur, and Patricia Wilbur. Proud Papa of Carissa (Andrew) Haves, Kiera Smith, Erin Wilbur, Tyler (Emily) Wilbur, Claudia (Evan) Bokor, and Justin Malott. Adoring Great Papa of Samuel and Asher Haves. Predeceased by son-in-law Lonnie Smith.
Wayne was the son of the late Harold (late Doreen) Wilbur, and the late Marcelline (Matthews) and the late Bert Huey. Brother of the late Bonnie ( late Gord) Kipp, the late Maxine (late Gerald) Tuckwell, Roxanne (late David) Fraser, the late Terry Wilbur, and Scott (Terry) Wilbur, and brother-in-law to the late Lloyd (late Norma) Annett, the late Bruce (Mary Rose) Annett, Marion (late Carl) Walls, and Wayne (Ruth Anne) Annett, and the late Delas Rabideau.
Wayne was born and raised on the family farm that he proudly worked for 60 years. Many improvements were made to the original farm during this time to increase productivity and revenue. As the owner/operator of Wilbur Farms Drainage, he improved efficiency of many farms in Lambton and Kent counties, including his own. He was active in his community informally and through several organizations, including Lambton Upland Game Birds (NWTF), Friends and Farmers Conservation Club, Lambton Beef Producers, Lambton Federation of Agriculture, and the Land Improvement Contractors of Ontario. Working as a volunteer at the Brigden Fair, particularly in the barns, was a favourite time of year for him.
Friends and family will be received at the Badder Funeral Home, 679 North Street, Dresden on Sunday, September 27, 2026 from 2:00-6:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 28, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Reception to follow at the Czech Hall, 116 St. John St. E., Dresden. Private family internment. Donations in honour of Wayne may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society Sarnia-Lambton or St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia.
