Fans of acclaimed singer-songwriter Tom Waits will gather at the historic Old Czech Hall in Dresden later this month for an afternoon dedicated to the legendary musician’s music and legacy.
The Tom Waits Appreciation Congregation is set to take the stage Sunday, Oct. 25 at the Old Czech Hall, located at 116 John St. E. in Dresden. Doors open at 1 p.m., with live music beginning at 2 p.m.
Billed as a celebration of the influential American artist, the event will bring together musicians and music enthusiasts for an afternoon focused on the songs and distinctive style that have made Waits one of the most celebrated and unconventional figures in contemporary music.
Sydenham Current caught up with organizers Al Kominek And John Gardiner, they say the gathering is intended as both a tribute and a community event, offering audiences the chance to experience live performances inspired by Waits’ extensive catalogue of work.
Tickets are $30.
Additional information and tickets are available by calling 519-683-2097 or by emailing oldczechhall@hotmail.com.
The event will be held at the Old Czech Hall, a longtime Dresden landmark that continues to host live music and cultural events throughout the year.
