OLG makes $473,045 second-quarter payment to Chatham-Kent for hosting Cascades Casino

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation has made a second-quarter payment of $473,045 to the Municipality of Chatham-Kent for hosting Cascades Casino Chatham.

The payment covers July 1 to Sept. 30. So far in OLG’s fiscal year, which runs from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027, Chatham-Kent has received $946,754. Since the casino opened in April 2001, the municipality has received $22,329,014.

OLG says the payments are based on a formula in the Municipality Contribution Agreement that is applied consistently across all land-based casino sites in Ontario, using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the site.

“OLG’s Municipality Contribution Agreement provides Chatham-Kent with a share of local casino revenue to invest and enhance our community,” said Trevor Jones, MPP for Chatham-Kent-Leamington. “Gaming facilities generate economic activity, support local jobs and investment, and provide revenue that helps fund priorities that are important to the people of Ontario.”

OLG says host communities have received more than $2.4 billion in non-tax gaming revenue since 1994.
