A boy who has been collecting pop tabs since he was three years old will make his donation to the Children’s Treatment Centre in Chatham on Saturday, Nov. 14.
Ryerson will turn 11 this month. His mother, Darlene Lauzon, said in a social media post that he plans to make his “grand donation” at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre, with his family there to support him.
Lauzon said Ryerson has been looking forward to the day since he began collecting seven years ago, and that friends, family and community members have added to the collection over the years. She and her husband, Lucas, are hoping for one last push of donations before the donation date.
