3rd tourney win for Tartans, Kings win twice, curling event approved

– The Wallaceburg Lakers got doubled up by the Sharks on Wednesday. Josh Oberg, Zander Wright and Ryan MacAlpine all scored in a losing effort. The Lakers will travel to Essex on Tuesday, Oct. 10, before hosting Blenheim the following night at Wallaceburg Memorial Arena.

– The senior Tartans fell to St. Pats 49-39… Megan McCarter and Brett Fischer each had 12 points for Wallaceburg.

– The junior girls team from Lambton-Kent beat the Great Lakes squad 42-24, while the senior Cardinals lost to Great Lakes 48-40.

– In varsity football action, the Wallaceburg Tartans beat the McGregor Panthers 47-6. Dylan Hiltz scored 3 touchdown, Brody Genyn had a pair of touchdowns and Patrick Ezewski added one touchdown for Wallaceburg. Kicker Gabe Namink nailed one field goals and all 6 conversions for Wallaceburg, who improved to 4-0 on the season. The Tartans travel to Blenheim on Wednesday, October 18 in their next game.
