Firefighters donate
Every year the Chatham-Kent Professional Firefighters Association members participate in a number of charitable events. The CKPFFA would like to thank those within our community who have donated and helped us raise more than $20,000 in 2018.
“We want to support our community anyway we can,” explains CKPFFA President Neil Woods. “From sponsoring sports teams, to supporting breast cancer awareness, to helping families in need at Christmas – we just want to give back.”
Members spent 2018 engaging in a variety events, fundraising campaigns, and sponsorships. The association funds hockey, soccer, and baseball teams in both Chatham and Wallaceburg.
“One of our largest events is the golf tournament in May,” says Woods, “Not only is it supported by our membership, we also receive numerous donations from local businesses.”
The CKPFFA Golf Tournament raised $14 000, which was split between CK Hospice and Muscular Dystrophy Canada – Chatham-Kent.
