Leafs legend Wendel Clark is excited to play in Wallaceburg

Toronto Maple Leafs legend Wendel Clark says the community of Wallaceburg can expect a fun experience, autographs and some funds being raised when the Leafs Alumni Team comes to town next month.

However, the former Leafs captain says fans shouldn’t expect to see any of his signature physical play.

“No chance of the gloves coming off,” Clark told the Sydenham Current.

“We come out, have some fun and have some fun with the team we’re playing against. Hopefully the fans can get a kick out of watching some old ex-Leafs play hockey.”

Clark and the Leafs Alumni will be battling a team of Wallaceburg Lakers alumni on March 7, 2020 at Wallaceburg Memorial Arena. The event is a fundraiser for Wallaceburg Minor Hockey.

“It always goes over well when the Alumni comes in and has fun in the town,” Clark says.

“We love getting out and being a part of the community and helping the community raise some money.”
