Update: Second suspect arrested in Devine Street homicide, first degree murder charges laid

Update from the Sarnia Police Service: The Sarnia Police Service would now like to announce the name of the suspect that was arrested yesterday, January 27, 2021, in connection to the Devine Street homicide.

Joshua William Tomlinson, 35 years of age, of Sarnia, has been remanded into custody for the charge of first degree murder in relation to the death of Allen Schairer, of Devine Street.  Tomlinson’s next court appearance will be on February 8, 2021.

The entire Sarnia Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance and support.

The investigation continues as officers remain on Devine Street as the scene is still being processed for evidence.  We are still requesting assistance in the form of any information pertaining to this incident.

Also, our detectives continue to investigate the murder of Sue Elin Lumsden, of Essex Street, and would again appreciate any information that will assist in solving this tragic event.

Sarnia Police Service officials allege: The Sarnia Police Service would like to advise the public that the second suspect involved in the Allen Schairer homicide was taken into custody at approximately 1:45 PM this afternoon.

Noah Elijah Brown, 28 years of age, was taken into custody without incident and is now facing first degree murder charges.

The entire Sarnia Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance and support.
