Chatham-Kent Police Service Chief Gary Conn has issued a statement, following the new measures announced by the Provincial government on Friday, April 16, 2021:

“During these challenging and concerning times, the expansion of these new measures are necessary.
The CKPS wishes to emphasize that our primary objectives over the next six weeks will be to educate, limit mobility, limit contact and enforce only when necessary with no random vehicle or pedestrian stops.
As a police service, we recognize and take into consideration that all of our community is experiencing ‘COVID fatigue’, however these new variances are more transmissible and as a result, collectively we need to be more vigilant and respect these new measures.
We (CKPS) hope that everyone will do their part by complying with the new Stay-At-Home orders, as this current third wave of the pandemic poses an extraordinary threat to both public health and our citizens.”
