Stolen vehicle in Dresden

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime Thursday night between 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. unknown suspects stole a black 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe from a residence on Davies Street.

The vehicle was last seen with Ontario license plates CAYZ 603.

Man charged with break and enter

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning around 6:30 a.m. police responded to a break and enter in progress at a business on Park Avenue East in Chatham.

Upon police arrival, the man was located inside the building, in possession of a butcher’s hatchet.

When the man failed to comply with the officer, a conductive energy weapon was deployed and he was taken into custody.

A search incident to arrest revealed that the man was also in possession of suspected fentanyl, regardless of being on conditions not to possess drugs.

A 34-year-old man, of no fixed address, was charged with break and enter, being in possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, failing to comply with his release conditions and drug possession.

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing and remanded until October 25, 2021.

Pair charged with theft

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a shoplifting complaint at the Real Canadian Superstore on St. Clair Street in Chatham.

A Chatham woman and teen were both arrested and charged with theft under $5,000.

They were released pending a future court date of November 26, 2021.

Man charged with theft

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a theft complaint at a business on Park Avenue East in Chatham.

Through investigation police learned that the man entered the fenced compound and removed wire and copper lines from machinery on the property.

Officers located the man a short distance away and he was taken into custody.

A 25-year-old Chatham man was charged with theft under $5,000, being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000 and mischief over $5,000.

He was released pending a future court date of November 24, 2021.

Woman charged with breach of probation

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Wallaceburg.

Through investigation, police learned that the woman was allowing a man, with whom she was currently bound not to communicate with, to live with her.

The 36-year-old Wallaceburg woman was arrested and charged with breach of probation and being a party to an offence.

She was released pending a future court date of December 7, 2021.

Stolen truck in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Saturday, October 16 around 11:30 p.m. unknown suspects stole a white 2019 Ford F-150 pick-up truck from a dealership on Richmond Street.

The truck was unplated.
