Man arrested for domestic offences
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday at 9:46 a.m., police began investigating a report of criminal harassment in Chatham.
Through investigation, police learned the man repeatedly texted and called the woman after their relationship ended. The man was told to stop contact but did not.
On June 5, 2022, the man attended the woman’s residence, where unwanted sexual contact occurred.
Police located the man driving on Maple Street in Ridgetown.
The man pulled into a parking lot, and the officer followed.
The officer detected a strong odour of alcohol and believed the man to be driving under the influence of alcohol.
He was arrested and transported to police headquarters for breath tests.
The 46-year-old Ridgetown man was arrested and charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit, criminal harassment, and sexual assault.
He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
Man arrested for assault
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night at 7:15 p.m., police began an assault investigation.
Police learned the man attended Memorial Park in Tilbury, where he initiated a physical altercation with another man.
The man punched the other man several times, causing bruising and swelling to his face.
At 8:36 p.m., the 18-year-old Tilbury man was arrested and charged with assault.
He was transported to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date of June 28, 2022.
