Lambton-Kent-Middlesex MP Lianne Rood has been named to the Shadow Cabinet for the Conservative Party of Canada.
“Honoured to accept my new appointment to the role of Shadow Minister for Federal Economic Development for Eastern, Central, and Southern Ontario,” Rood said on social media.
“I look forward to working with my colleagues to make Pierre Poilievre Canada’s next Prime Minister. Together we will fight the Liberal tax hikes and demand financial freedom for Canadians.”
Poilievre, the new Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada and the Official Opposition, issued a statement announcing “the new inflation-busting” Conservative Shadow Cabinet.
“I am proud to announce our hard-working and strong team that will take on Trudeau and his costly coalition and their plans to continue to cripple the Canadian economy and make life more costly for Canadians,” Poilievre stated.
“Together with this team, Conservatives will take on Justinflation, fight all of Trudeau and his costly coalition’s tax hikes – including his plans to triple the expensive carbon tax – and tackle the cost-of-living crisis so that young people can buy a home, families can afford nutritious food, and our seniors can retire with dignity.”
Poilievre added: “Together, we will ensure Canadians benefit from the fruits of their labour, so they can take back control of their lives here in Canada, the freest country on earth.”
Earlier this year, Rood had been appointed to the Conservative Parliamentary Leadership Team as the Deputy Whip and Co-Chair of Question Period planning.
