Carroll, Gary passed away peacefully surrounded by dear friends at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham on Monday, November 28, 2022 in his 68th year. Cherished and loving son of the late Cecil & Margaret (Johnson) Carroll. Gary was a friend to the entire community of Dresden and will be dearly missed by many. He graduated from high school in 1974, and worked for R.S. Johnson and Elaine McFadden at the grocery store. He was a member of the Dresden Rotary Club and had received the Paul Harris Fellowship Award. He spent many hours at the arena cheering on Dresden Minor Hockey players and received the banner honour award of Dresden Minor Hockey Number One Fan on October 16, 2004. Gary was an active executive member of the Dresden Minor Hockey Association and Dresden Jr. Kings, the Dresden Community Church, Former Friends of the Dresden Library, and Dresden Side Streets Youth Centre.
A heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Park Street Place, the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Gary. Thank you to all the volunteers who walked with Gary over the last few months, and a special thank you to friends who sat with Gary in the hospital. To the entire Dresden community, thank you for the care, support, and friendships made with Gary throughout his lifetime.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Badder Funeral Home & Reception Centre, 679 North St., Dresden on Wednesday from 1:00-3:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will take place from the Dresden Community Church, 29043 Community Rd., Dresden on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Dresden Cemetery.
