After nearly 100 stranded residents spent the night at the Walmart in Chatham, the store manager says her number one goal was to keep the customers and associates “safe, warm and content.”
Judy Lagasse told the Sydenham Current a total of 49 customers and 48 associates stayed overnight at the St. Clair Street store, as a blizzard ripped through the community.

Randy Morton, a Chatham resident, told the Sydenham Current on Thursday evening that despite living less than a kilometre away, road closures on St. Clair Street and Pioneer Line in Chatham forced him to stay put.
He said the staff at Walmart were incredibly accommodating.
