Environment Canada issued a fog advisory across Chatham-Kent at 7:05 a.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2023.
“Near zero visibility in fog is expected or occurring over some areas,” forecasters say.
Hazards include near zero visibility in areas of dense fog and the timing is early this morning.
“Areas of dense fog have developed and visibility may be reduced to near zero,” forecasters added.
“The visibility will improve this morning when the fog dissipates. Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. If travelling, be prepared for areas of near-zero visibility.”
A frost advisory also remains in place across Chatham-Kent.
“Some plants may be damaged by frost,” Environment Canada officials stated.
“Frost is expected early this morning with temperatures below the freezing mark. Some areas near the lakes may remain above freezing, however. Cover up plants, especially those in frost-prone areas. Frost advisories are issued when temperatures are expected to reach the freezing mark during the growing season, leading to potential damage and destruction to plants and crops.”
