Whimsies Paddle Rental is now open in downtown Wallaceburg for their first full season.
“We are celebrating our opening with a sale on July 14, 15, and 16, with $5 off every rental,” Downtown Wallaceburg BIA officials said in a media release.
“In the middle of the pandemic, a novel idea was born to help safely bring more tourism to Wallaceburg. It was catapulted into reality through the hard work and encouragement of downtown business owners, local volunteers, community partners, and the CK municipality.”
BIA officials added: “Whimsie’s Paddle Rental was proudly established in 2022. Our mission at Whimsies is to help people discover or rediscover Wallaceburg’s unique waterways, history, and beautiful downtown. The calm nature of the Sydenham River and the waterways surrounding Wallaceburg make it the perfect place to paddle.”
BIA officials say people can book in advance or visit their rental office located at Civic Square Park, 779 Dufferin Ave., in downtown Wallaceburg.
“We offer paddleboards, single and double kayaks for rent,” BIA officials say.
“We also have a dock and kayak launcher to make it easy for paddlers of all experience levels. Whimsies is open from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday to Monday and closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.
