Theatre Kent is thrilled to announce auditions for its upcoming production of Jesus Christ Superstar, which will be performed at the Chatham Capitol Theatre.
This marks the first large-scale musical production since the pandemic, signifying an exciting time on the stage for both the company and its loyal audience.
Directed by Jamie Johnston and featuring musical direction by Tom Overton, this promises to be an unforgettable theatrical experience.
Theatre Kent is looking for men and women, age 14+, for all principal and ensemble roles.
Non-traditional casting will be considered.
Additionally, there are a limited number of ensemble roles available for children, age 8-13.
The audtions will be held, as follows:
– Sunday, June 2nd: 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm (Children’s auditions only from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm)
– Monday, June 3rd: 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
– Wednesday, June 5th: 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
The audfitions will be held at St. Andrew’s Church, 85 William St S., Chatham. People are asked to use the door across from the former Dutch Market.
Prospective auditionees are requested to prepare one song in the style of 60s/70s rock and to refrain from selecting a song from the show itself.
A pianist and Bluetooth speaker will be provided to accompany audition pieces.

Jesus Christ Superstar features lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Performances are scheduled for November 14th to 16th, 2024, at the 1200-seat Chatham Capitol Theatre.
This production also celebrates the return of director Johnston and musical director Overton, who have previously helmed Theatre Kent favourites such as Chicago, Evita, White Christmas, Spamalot, and more.
