Disturbance in Tilbury leads to failing to attend court charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On March 13, 2022, police responded to Canal Street in Tilbury for a disturbance. Through investigation, officers learned the man assaulted another during an argument. He was arrested and released with a court date.

When he failed to make his court appearance a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On July 2, 2024, at 11:05 a.m., the man attended the Ontario Court of Justice on Grand Avenue West in Chatham and turned himself in to the police.

The 32-year-old Tilbury man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing.

He is currently facing the following charges: two counts of assault.
