Arrest made after a B&E in Dresden

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 1:36 p.m., police responded to a break and enter on Esterville Road in Dresden.

The suspect was believed to be still on the property.

Officers arrived on the scene and conducted a search of the property.

Police located the man, known to the homeowner, hiding and arrested him.

Upon arrest the man provided a false name.

The homeowner’s house and car keys were located on the man during a search incident to arrest.

The 37-year-old Ridgetown man was transported to police headquarters, where he was released with conditions and a future court date of September 23, 2024.

He has been charged with obstructing a peace officer and break and enter.
