Are you interested in volunteering for Chatham-Kent Public Library’s Reading Buddies program?
“We are looking for volunteers, 16 years and older, for the Reading Buddies Program beginning October 2024,” library officials say.
“Reading Buddies volunteers are needed at Chatham and Wallaceburg branches. As a volunteer, you will help a child develop important literacy skills and a lifelong love of reading.”
Library officials added: “Reading Buddies offer free one-on-one assistance to children in grade 1 through grade 6 who would like to practice reading. Volunteers spend 30 minutes with each child encouraging and motivating them to read using literacy-based games, activities and high-interest readers.
