Rainfall warning in effect across Chatham-Kent

A rainfall warning is in effect for Chatham-Kent.

Environment Canada officials say significant rainfall is expected and the frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall.

Forecasters say rainfall amounts of 20 to 40 mm is expected, along with ponding of water on roads.

The rain is anticipated to begin Sunday morning, December 29, 2024 and ending Sunday night.

“Rain will begin Sunday morning and may be heavy at times,” forecasters say.

“The rain will taper to isolated showers Sunday night. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Don’t approach washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts. Keep children and pets away from creeks and river banks.”
