OPP investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a pickup truck in Petrolia

OPP officials allege: Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a collision involving a pedestrian and is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the owner of the involved vehicle.

On December 27, 2024, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Lambton County OPP along with Lambton County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a report of a collision involving a pickup truck and a pedestrian on Petrolia Line at West Street.

Early investigation revealed that while an individual was attempting to cross the road, a black pickup truck, reversing, struck the pedestrian.

The involved vehicle failed to remain at the collision scene.

The pedestrian was transported to local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

After further investigation, Police obtained a photo (see above) of the involved vehicle which is described as a black Toyota Tundra pickup truck.

Investigators are asking the driver/owner of this vehicle to contact police as soon as possible.
