Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On April 1, 2025, between 8:46 p.m. and 11:04 p.m., the accused, a 42-year-old male from Blenheim, contacted the Chatham-Kent Police Service 9-1-1 emergency number a total of five times over a span of 2.5 hours without a valid emergency.
The individual, known to Chatham-Kent Police Service, made four initial 9-1-1 calls regarding non-emergency matters and was uncooperative when contacted by officers. However, during the fourth call, police issued a caution against Public Mischief, which did not deter the individual.
On April 7, 2025, at approximately 11:04 p.m., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a fifth 9-1-1 call. Officers located and arrested the accused on Grand Avenue West in Chatham. The accused was charged with Public Mischief. He was later released with a scheduled court date of May 5, 2025.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to remind the public that 9-1-1 calls should only be used for emergency situations.
