Disturbance in Chatham leads to assault charges

Officers found the victim outside with visible injuries, including swelling and bruising around her left eye.

She reported being assaulted during a dispute with her partner.

Officers learned tensions had escalated between the couple during a verbal argument.

The victim attempted to leave when she was forcibly prevented from leaving by her partner, leading to a physical altercation.

The 37-year-old Chatham man was arrested for assault and forcible confinement.

He was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of June 9, 2025.
