RetroFest is marking its 25th anniversary this year, once again bringing thousands of classic car enthusiasts to the streets of Chatham-Kent.
Regularly ranked among Ontario’s top 100 festivals, RetroFest has become a mainstay in the community and a major draw for vintage automobile fans across North America.
“RetroFest really shines a light on Chatham-Kent being the Classic Car Capital of Canada,” said Katie Goulet, Executive Director of the Historic Downtown Chatham Business Improvement Area. Organizers expect more than 30,000 visitors over the weekend.
The festivities begin Friday, May 23 with live entertainment, family activities and the popular Parking Lot Party. Saturday features the main car show, beginning at 7 a.m., with over 600 classic vehicles expected to line the streets.
The Kent Historic Auto Club, a founding partner of the event, will once again help lead the celebrations. “This event is the highlight of our year,” said club member Jillian Pike. “We’re excited to be collecting canned goods at the entrance to give back to our community.”
