Bernice Boak

After a full and well-travelled life, and a love of music, beautifully playing piano until recently, Bernice Adele Boak (nee Shaddick) of Wallaceburg and formerly of Sarnia, Port Lambton and Dresden, passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance-Wallaceburg Site on Saturday, June 14, 2025 just shy of her 94th birthday.

Beloved wife of her late husband Aaron (2017). Bernice is the only child and daughter of the late Charles and Clara (Potter) Shaddick. Loving mother of Richard Boak (Cathy), Lawrence Boak and Alisa Boak (Wayne McGregor). Dear grandmother of Stephanie Rumery (Jeff), Melissa Pusching (Brad), Sean Boak (Jennifer), James Boak (Melissa), Andrew Boak (Danielle), Caroline Wood (Sterling), Cody Randall, Lainie Randall, Amber Duthie (George) and proud great grandmother of 8 great grandchildren.

Thank you to the caring and compassionate staff at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance –Chatham ER, ICU, and the Medicine Unit, Wallaceburg Site. Thank you to the exceptional staff at the Oak’s Retirement Village, Wallaceburg. Your kindness, care and guidance the past 2 years and particularly the past 2 months went above and beyond. We can’t name one of you without naming all of you. A very special thank you to Ann for your care and friendship to Bernice the past 3 years. You truly were a life raft to us.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and her ashes will be placed alongside those of her husband in a private interment service in McDonald Cemetery, Port Lambton. HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg has been entrusted with arrangements.
