Shoplifting incident in Chatham leads to multiple charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On June 24, 2025, at approximately 6:04 p.m., Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of theft at a local retail store in Chatham.

The suspect, a 30-year-old female from Chatham-Kent, entered the retail store, selected merchandise, and exited without making any attempt to pay.

Upon investigation, it was revealed that the individual was previously bound by judicial release conditions not to attend the location.

The suspect was arrested without incident a short distance away. She is currently facing the following charges:

– Failing to comply with release order

– Theft Under $5000

– Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

She was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where she is currently being held for bail.
