With heavy hearts, we announce that Lynda Van Damme, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance in Wallaceburg at the age of 78 years.
Lynda was born in Chatham and was a daughter of the late Stan and Grace (Monroe) Gibb.
Beloved wife of Albert Van Damme.
Dear mother of Nicole (Stuart Wood) Van Damme-Wood and Chad (Alisa) Van Damme.
Dear grandmother of Olivia and Owen and she is reunited with her granddaughter the late Rhyann Van Damme.
Lynda was also predeceased by Alberts parents Jerome and Rose (Vandevenne) Van Damme, her brothers Kenneth (Betty Lou) Gibb and Gene (Jean) Gibb.
She will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Lynda was a past member of the Catholic Womens League.
She enjoyed playing bingo, she enjoyed a visit to talk with her friends but most of all Lynda always found time to be in her garden.
The late Lynda Van Damme is resting at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. (639 Elgin St.) Wallaceburg.
Family and friends are invited for visitation on Monday, September 29, 2025 from 2-8pm at the funeral home.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Chatham-Kent Hospice may be left at the funeral home.
