Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 36-year-old Chatham woman wanted in connection with a September shoplifting investigation has been arrested after police stopped her on Harvey Street Thursday morning.
Police say the woman was identified through surveillance footage after several items were taken from a Wellington Street West business on Sept. 22 without payment. She was charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, but later failed to attend two scheduled court dates and a warrant was issued.
On Nov. 20 at 9:42 a.m., officers conducting a person stop learned she was wanted on several outstanding warrants, including failing to attend court and theft-related offences. She was arrested and remanded into custody until her next video court appearance on Nov. 25.
