Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation receives $110,000 from James A. Beattie Foundation

The Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent has received a $110,000 donation from the James A. Beattie Foundation to support its newly established Endowment Fund.

The Foundation said the contribution will help ensure the long-term sustainability of essential programs and services at the Children’s Treatment Centre that are not covered by government funding. These include social work, music therapy, and recreational therapy programs that provide families with guidance, therapeutic support, and inclusive recreation opportunities such as sledge hockey, dance, baseball, and sailing.

“We are deeply grateful to the James A. Beattie Foundation for this remarkable gift,” said Mike Genge, president and CEO of the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent. “This contribution represents more than financial support – it’s an investment in the future of children and families in Chatham-Kent. It ensures that vital programs like Music Therapy, Recreational Therapy and Social Work will continue to make a difference for generations to come.”

The creation of the Endowment Fund will allow these programs to continue indefinitely, with investment income providing ongoing annual support.

The donation marks a new chapter for the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation following the completion of its Build for the Kids capital campaign and the ongoing construction of the new Children’s Treatment Centre facility.

The Foundation expressed its thanks to the James A. Beattie Foundation for its “vision, generosity, and commitment to helping children and youth in our community reach their full potential.”
