Crash on Highway 40 in St. Clair Township leads to life-threatening injuries

OPP officials allege: The Lambton County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a two-vehicle collision that sent one person to hospital.

On December 4, 2025, at approximately 8:41 a.m., members of the Lambton OPP, St. Clair Township Fire Department, and Lambton County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a collision involving a passenger vehicle and a tractor trailer at the intersection of Highway 40 and Bentpath Line in St. Clair Township.

The driver of the passenger vehicle, a 31-year-old of Plympton-Wyoming, was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.

Highway 40 was closed in both directions for an extended period of time to allow for the investigation and roadway clean-up. The roadway has since reopened.

The investigation remains ongoing.
