OPP investigate early-morning vehicle thefts in Petrolia

OPP officials allege: Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a series of thefts from vehicles and attempted thefts reported in Petrolia.

Police say the incidents occurred in the early morning hours of January 2, 2026, involving two confirmed thefts from vehicles and several additional attempts. Investigators determined that between midnight and 3 a.m., an unknown individual attended multiple residential properties and attempted to enter parked vehicles.

The incidents were reported at addresses on Mulberry Place, Lasalle Line, Rosemount Drive and Kettle Lane. Police believe the occurrences are connected and involve the same suspect and vehicle.

The suspect vehicle is described as a 2014 white Dodge Durango. The suspect is described as a tall, thin-built male wearing an orange or brown jacket, dark pants and dark shoes.
