Driver charged after traffic stop in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 35-year-old Chatham man has been charged following an early-morning traffic stop in Wallaceburg.

Chatham-Kent police say an officer conducted a traffic stop on Montgomery Drive at approximately 3:18 a.m. on Feb. 2, 2026, after receiving an alert from an automated licence plate recognition system.

As a result of the investigation, police determined the driver was operating a motor vehicle while under a valid licence suspension. The man was issued a summons for driving while suspended, and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
